FAQs

I’ve never been to Ha Giang. Is it safe?

Ha Giang is a very safe destination for international travelers. We have a team of professional guides who speak fluent English and are experienced in handling various situations. Alongside them are skilled drivers who know every turn and stretch of the road like the back of their hand—ensuring your absolute safety throughout the journey. The itinerary is carefully crafted to provide not only safety and comfort but also a deeply immersive experience.

I don’t speak Vietnamese. How can I communicate?

No worries! Our English-speaking guides are here to help you every step of the way. They will make sure you can interact with locals in an easy and enjoyable way, acting as your cultural bridge.

Is the road to Ha Giang difficult? What if I get motion sickness?

The journey from Hanoi to Ha Giang takes about 6–7 hours. You’ll travel in a modern limousine van with comfortable seats and regular rest stops. If you’re prone to motion sickness, just let us know—we can prepare motion sickness tablets and arrange the best seat for you.

What should I bring with me?

Once your trip is confirmed, we’ll send you a checklist via email. Generally, you only need warm clothes (in colder months), comfortable walking shoes, sunscreen, and your camera.

Can I join if I’m traveling solo?

Absolutely! Many international travelers come to Ha Giang alone to discover its beauty. We’ll connect you with like-minded adventurers, so you can enjoy both independence and companionship during your journey.

Is this suitable for middle-aged or senior travelers?

Yes. The experience can be adapted to your pace and physical needs. If you prefer a more relaxed itinerary—without motorbikes or treks—we can personalize everything for your comfort.

How far in advance should I book?

We recommend booking at least 4–7 days in advance to secure transportation, accommodation, and your guide for the best possible experience.

Is travel insurance included?

Yes. All participants are covered by travel insurance as required, giving you extra peace of mind.

What happens if the weather is bad?

In case the weather seriously affects safety, we will inform you and offer options to reschedule or provide a refund according to our flexible policy. If it rains but conditions are still safe, the trip will continue as planned. We’ve prepared raincoats, waterproof shoe covers, and large plastic bags to protect your backpack—everything you need to stay dry and comfortable throughout the journey.

Can I customize the experience to my preferences?

Definitely. Whether you're a private group or looking for something unique—like staying in a local homestay, joining a traditional festival, or exploring hidden villages—we can tailor the experience to your interests.

The price seems a bit high for my budget. Are there more affordable options?

We understand the budget is important. Our pricing reflects the quality of service, safety standards, English-speaking guides, and authentic experiences. If needed, we’re happy to suggest a more affordable version while keeping the core value and comfort.

I want to ride a motorbike myself, but I don’t have an international driver’s license. Is that okay?

If you’re really keen on riding by yourself, we can help make arrangements. However, please be aware that riding without a valid license may result in a police fine of 2,500,000 VND. To ensure a safe and worry-free journey, we highly recommend traveling with an experienced local driver—you’ll still enjoy the adventure without having to worry about traffic laws or safety. That said, if you prefer to ride your own motorbike and don’t want to sit behind a driver, we can still arrange it for you. Just note that you will be responsible for paying the 2,500,000 VND fine in case you’re stopped by the police.

Will I be fined only once, or could it happen multiple times?

There are several police checkpoints along the loop, and you could be fined at each one. According to Vietnamese law, there’s no regulation that exempts you from further fines after you've paid once. The law simply states that riding a motorbike without a valid license is subject to a fine—every time you're caught.

But don’t worry. The Dragon Team can help you manage this so that you only have to pay once. You’ll need to prepare 2,500,000 VND in cash, and we’ll assist in handling the fine before your journey begins, ensuring that you're only fined one time during the entire loop.

I'm a vegetarian—do you provide vegetarian meals?

Yes, we do provide vegetarian meals, and we can also accommodate guests with food allergies. Simply write “I’m a vegetarian” in the notes section when making your booking and payment, and we’ll take care of the rest.

I have a gluten allergy (or I have celiac disease). Can you provide safe food for me?

Absolutely. We can arrange safe meals for you. We've had experience welcoming guests with celiac disease (a severe gluten intolerance) just like you. So no worries—we’ll make sure your meals are safe. Just remember to write “I have celiac disease, allergic to gluten” in the notes section when booking and paying, and the Dragon Team will handle everything else.
