⛰️ THE IDEA BEHIND THIS EXPERIENCE

-Many off-road tours today try to become more extreme, more dangerous, and more technical.

But that was never our goal.

We believe the true beauty of Ha Giang is not found in dangerous stunts or impossible obstacles.

-The true beauty is found:

  • .deep inside hidden mountain villages
  • .on quiet roads between local communities
  • .in places where tourism still feels far away
  • .in the simple daily life of local people
  • .in the freedom of riding slowly through raw nature

-That is why this experience was created.

Not to prove how brave you are.

But to help you experience a side of Ha Giang that most travelers never see.

🛞 OFF-ROAD — BUT SAFE

Yes, this is a real off-road riding experience.

-Every day includes:

  • .dirt roads
  • .rocky roads
  • .narrow concrete village paths
  • .mountain trails
  • .rough local roads

-But the route was carefully designed to avoid:

  • .dangerous obstacle sections
  • .extreme enduro terrain
  • .dry rocky stream beds often seen in professional enduro videos
  • .steep vertical ledges and high step climbs often seen in extreme enduro riding
  • .high-risk technical challenges

You will feel adventure.
You will feel excitement.
You will feel freedom.

But you should NOT feel like you are risking your life.

Safety always comes first.

*To prioritize safety and provide a more comfortable riding experience, Dragon Team does not use a single standard off-road motorbike for every guest. Instead, we recommend and select motorbikes suited to each rider’s height, body size, and riding experience.

📍 RIDING STYLE & DAILY DISTANCE

The average riding distance is around:

110–120 km per day

*Based on riding time, the journey typically consists of approximately 50% paved roads (asphalt or concrete) and 50% off-road terrain. This balance may vary depending on weather and road conditions to prioritize the group’s safety.

-Because this is an exploration experience, the focus is not speed.

We ride slowly enough to:

  • .enjoy the landscapes
  • .take photos
  • .stop in villages
  • .meet local people
  • .truly experience the mountains

🧤 RIDING REQUIREMENTS

This experience is suitable for riders who:

  • .already know how to ride manual motorbikes
  • .feel confident using clutch and gears
  • .have basic experience riding mountain roads

You do NOT need professional off-road racing skills.

This is not Dakar Rally.

But complete beginners should not join.

🗺️ 4-DAY ITINERARY

DAY 1: Ha Giang → Yen Minh

Hidden village roads & the beginning of the adventure

👉 View Itinerary

.After breakfast, we will secure the luggage, check the motorbikes carefully, and do a short test ride to make sure everything is ready for a smooth and enjoyable journey.

.In the morning, we leave Ha Giang and begin the adventure through hidden mountain roads, including dirt roads, rocky roads, off-road village trails, and small concrete village paths running through remote local communities.

.This first day already introduces the off-road spirit of the tour, focusing on discovering the real daily life of the mountains — places where tourism still rarely reaches.

.Around midday, we will stop for lunch in Tam Son, Quan Ba.

.In the afternoon, we continue our journey from Tam Son to Yen Minh along paved roads, passing through Ha Giang’s beautiful mountain landscapes. Along the way, we visit a traditional Hmong hemp-weaving village to learn about the local weaving craft and try drawing traditional patterns on hemp fabric using beeswax.

Dinner and overnight stay in Yen Minh town.

DAY 2: Yen Minh → Dong Van

Deep into the stone plateau

👉 View Itinerary

.Day two is one of the most authentic off-road parts of the experience.

.Almost the entire day avoids the main tourist roads and famous viewpoints usually visited by standard tours.

.Instead, we ride through small ethnic minority villages hidden deep inside the Dong Van Karst Plateau, where tourism is still very limited.

About:

  • .70% of the day includes dirt roads, rocky roads, and off-road sections
  • .30% consists of narrow concrete village roads connecting remote communities

.This is a true off-road exploration day with constantly changing terrain and remote mountain scenery.

.The landscapes throughout the day feel peaceful, raw, and untouched.

.We will visit the ancient village of Lao Xa to learn about the traditional handcrafted silver jewelry of the Hmong people. Afterwards, we continue our journey and stop for lunch in Thach Ma.

.After lunch, we continue from Thach Ma to Dong Van. For approximately half of the afternoon’s riding time, we explore remote villages along dirt roads, rocky trails, and narrow concrete paths, enjoying beautiful mountain scenery and discovering authentic local culture.

Dinner and overnight stay in Dong Van town.

DAY 3: Dong Van → Ban An Stream

Mountain trails, hidden roads & riverside camping

👉 View Itinerary

The morning of day three includes some of the most beautiful off-road riding sections of the entire experience.

The route mainly follows dirt roads, rocky mountain trails, off-road village roads, and very narrow concrete paths connecting remote villages.

Some concrete sections are only around 50 cm wide, with steep slopes and sharp corners, creating a fun and exciting off-road riding experience.

The scenery during the morning ride is also one of the highlights of the entire tour.

Lunch will be served in Meo Vac town.

In the afternoon, we mainly continue toward Ban An Stream on larger roads. Around 50% of the afternoon still passes through quieter local village roads and light off-road sections with very few tourists, while the remaining section follows more familiar mountain roads.

Tonight, we stay beside Ban An Stream at a local family house.

You can choose:

  • .sleeping inside a traditional stilt house room
    or
  • .camping beside the stream

This is one of the most unique experiences of the entire journey.

After dinner, we may organize an outdoor BBQ picnic beside the stream with grilled fish, chicken, or duck depending on the group’s preference.

Flexible off-road option for the afternoon

.If the weather is favorable, the roads are dry, and all group members are still physically fit and willing to continue exploring, the guide may extend the off-road experience into the afternoon instead of following the standard route. This decision will depend on the actual conditions and the agreement of the entire group.

DAY 4: Ban An Stream → Ha Giang

Final mountain roads & return to Ha Giang

👉 View Itinerary

.Day four is the final day of the journey back to Ha Giang.

.If the weather is dry, we will continue riding through off-road mountain routes from Ban An Stream to Du Gia before stopping for lunch.

.If the weather is rainy, we will instead follow smaller concrete village roads connecting local communities on the way back to Du Gia.

.In the afternoon, we continue our journey back to Ha Giang along scenic mountain roads through the Thuan Hoa River Valley, including one final off-road section.

Expected arrival back in Ha Giang is around 4 PM.

⚠️ IMPORTANT NOTES

👉 Read Information

1. Travel insurance

Vietnam is still a developing country, and travel insurance coverage here is often lower than in many developed countries.

Although this experience already includes basic local travel insurance, we strongly recommend that you purchase additional travel insurance from your home country before the trip for better coverage and compensation if needed.

2. This is still a very new off-road experience

This off-road experience is still new and not yet widely known, so the number of participants is currently limited.

We highly recommend inviting friends or other riders with similar interests to join the experience together. It not only makes the journey more enjoyable, but also helps make group departures easier to organize.

3. Fixed departure dates

This off-road experience does NOT depart daily.

Group departures are currently available only on the following dates each month:

  • 1st
  • 5th
  • 10th
  • 15th
  • 20th
  • 25th

If you cannot join on the fixed departure dates but still want to experience the route, private tour arrangements are available upon request.

4. Minimum group size for shared departures

The published price is based on a shared group experience and requires a minimum of 2 participants to operate.

If you are traveling solo, we are still happy to accept your booking.

However, if no additional riders join the group before departure, there will be two options:

  • .We cancel the departure and fully refund your deposit.
    or
  • .If you still wish to continue, the experience can operate as a private tour with an additional 30% surcharge.

5. Unexpected situations during off-road riding

Although the route was carefully designed to maximize safety and avoid dangerous extreme terrain, off-road riding still carries certain risks and unexpected situations.

For example:

  • motorbike falls
  • mechanical problems
  • or incidents occurring in remote mountain areas without repair shops nearby

In these situations, all members of the group may need to support each other by helping move the motorbike or assisting the rider back to a larger road where support is available.

Because of this, the daily schedule may sometimes become slower than expected, including:

  • .late lunches
  • .delayed arrivals at the homestay
  • .or route adjustments depending on conditions

We ask all participants to join the experience with:

  • .patience
  • .flexibility
  • .teamwork spirit
  • .and understanding for the realities of remote off-road travel

6. Deposit & cancellation policy

Off-road experiences require high preparation and operating costs.

For this reason, deposits are generally non-refundable if a participant cancels voluntarily after booking.

Deposit refunds are only supported in unavoidable situations such as:

  • .natural disasters
  • .landslides
  • .flooding
  • .or when a solo traveler cannot be matched with enough participants for a shared departure and does not agree to upgrade to a private experience with the additional surcharge.
