Our Tour Style – Small Groups,
Safety First & Real Ha Giang Experiences
When we design a journey in Ha Giang, we do not begin with the question:
“How can we take our guests to as many places as possible?”
What Dragon Team cares about more is:
“When the journey is over, what have our guests actually experienced?”
For us, a journey is not just about riding through beautiful roads, stopping at famous viewpoints, taking photos, and then moving on to the next destination.
We want our guests to have enough time to see Ha Giang, meet the people who live here, understand more about their cultures, and discover places that can easily be missed when a journey moves too quickly.
That is how we design Dragon Team journeys.

🛡️ 1. Safety First – Safety Always Comes Before Speed
The roads of Ha Giang are beautiful, but they are also mountain roads with many passes, curves, and sections that require a high level of concentration.
That is why Dragon Team’s style is not about riding fast just to complete as many places as possible in one day.
We try to design our journeys at a reasonable pace so that:
• Drivers and guests can travel at an appropriate speed.
• There is enough time to rest and stop for experiences along the way.
• We can minimize the need to continue riding after dark.
• Safety is always prioritized over speed.
With the Easy Rider option on our Classic tours, guests ride behind local drivers who are familiar with the terrain of Ha Giang.
For guests who choose Self-Ride, we always consider riding experience, confidence, and the actual conditions of the journey to be important factors.
For us, a memorable journey does not need to be a fast one.

👥 2. Small Groups – Maximum 10 Guests
Dragon Team’s shared tours are limited to a maximum of 10 guests.
If the number of guests exceeds 10, we divide them into smaller groups rather than putting everyone into one large group.
On our Classic tours, during the high season, a group usually has around 5–7 guests; during quieter periods, it may be only 2–4 guests.
But the reason Dragon Team keeps groups small is not simply because it makes traveling easier.
In a small group:
• The guide has more time to talk with each guest.
• Guests can ask questions and interact with the guide more easily.
• The group has more flexibility to stop when something interesting appears along the way.
• Meeting and talking with local people becomes more natural.
After a few days, we hope people no longer feel that they are simply following a tour group, but that they are sharing a journey together.

🛣️ 3. Hidden Roads – Not Only the Roads Every Tour Group Takes
Ha Giang’s famous destinations are still an important part of the journey.
We do not avoid beautiful places simply because they are famous.
But especially on longer journeys, Dragon Team tries to combine famous highlights with small roads through villages, local routes, and less touristy areas, whenever conditions allow.
The difference can also be seen in the length of the journey:
• 2 Days 1 Night: for travelers with limited time who want to explore the famous highlights of Ha Giang.
• 3 Days 2 Nights: includes the important “must-see” places, with more time to experience Ha Giang more fully.
• 4 Days 3 Nights: allows us to go deeper into village roads and less crowded areas, with more time for local culture and daily life.
For Dragon Team, adding another day does not simply mean adding another list of places.
It means having more time to travel slowly and explore more deeply.

🌿 4. Real Local Experiences – Local Culture Is Not Just Something to Watch
We do not want our guests to see ethnic minority communities only through a vehicle window or stop for just a few minutes to take photos.
When conditions are suitable, we want guests to have opportunities to meet people, talk with them, learn from them, and directly participate in a part of local culture or daily life.
On our 3-day and 4-day journeys, guests can learn about traditional hemp weaving in Lung Tam and directly try part of the beeswax drawing process.
In Du Gia, the Tay cultural experience can continue after dinner with Then singing and Tinh lute music, and when the group conditions are suitable, bamboo dancing.
Instead of simply watching a performance, we want guests to have the opportunity to sit with local people, talk, ask questions, and understand more about the meaning behind what they are hearing and seeing.
On the 4-day journey, the experience continues with the Red Dao community in Nam Dam. Guests can learn about traditional clothing, the plants that are used, and the story behind the traditional Red Dao herbal bath, before experiencing the herbal bath themselves.
Sometimes along the road, we also come across local people doing their everyday work in the villages. If they agree and the conditions are suitable, the guide can help guests talk with them, learn about what they are doing, and sometimes try taking part themselves.

🧵 Longer Journeys Continue the Cultural Story
On our 5-day Ha Giang – Cao Bang tour and 8-day Ha Giang – Cao Bang – Ba Be tour, this way of e=xploring local culture continues through traditional craft villages such as:
• Traditional papermaking.
• Incense making.
• Traditional knife forging.
With papermaking, guests can directly experience part of the papermaking process.
With knife forging, depending on the time and conditions of each journey, guests may be able to participate directly or visit and learn about the craft.
We do not want culture to become just another stop for taking photos.
What matters more is giving guests an opportunity to understand how people here live, what they do, and why these traditions still continue.

🏡 5. A Homestay Is More Than Just a Place to Sleep
Where you stay is also part of how Dragon Team designs the experience.
Whenever possible, we try to arrange for guests to stay each night at a homestay hosted by a different ethnic community.
This allows the cultural experience to continue even after the day’s activities have ended. It can continue in the place where guests have dinner, rest, and meet local people.
For example, on our 3-day and 4-day Classic tours:
• The first night may be at a Tay homestay.
• The following night may be at a H’Mong homestay.
• On the 4-day Classic journey, the third night continues in the Red Dao community of Nam Dam.On our 3-day and 4-day Classic tours, guests can also choose from different accommodation levels:
• Dorm.
• Private room – shared bathroom.
• Private room – private bathroom (ensuite).
• Luxury Bungalow. If a guest has selected a private room category, Dragon Team maintains that standard throughout the journey or may provide a free upgrade when available. We do not downgrade guests to a lower room category.
On other journeys, accommodation may be arranged according to the specific standard of each tour.
Whatever the journey, whenever possible, we still prioritize homestays that fit the style of the trip: comfortable, offering opportunities to connect with local people, and avoiding places that are too noisy or crowded with party groups.

🎶 6. Exploration-Focused, Not Party-Focused
Dragon Team is not a tour where guests are “not allowed to have fun.”
Guests can still talk, laugh, have dinner together, and try homemade corn alcohol if they want to. At the homestays, guests can also socialize with other travelers or groups staying at the same place, make new friends, share stories about their journeys, and even sing karaoke if they want to and the conditions at the homestay are suitable.
We do not want to limit those natural moments of fun and connection. The difference is simply that Dragon Team does not build its tours around bars, drinking, or parties that continue late into the night.
When corn alcohol is introduced at dinner, it is part of the cultural experience of the northern highlands. Guests can try it, raise a glass with everyone, or choose not to drink at all.
The goal is still for everyone to wake up comfortably the next morning, get back on the road, and continue exploring Ha Giang.
Having fun and socializing are still part of the journey. Partying is simply not the purpose of the journey.

✨ 7. Real Experiences Cannot Always Be Scheduled
Some of the most memorable moments of a journey are not things that can be fixed into an itinerary.
Sometimes it is a local person working along the road who agrees to let us stop and talk.
Sometimes, if the route, timing, and circumstances are suitable, a driver may take the group to visit their family.
Sometimes it is simply staying a little longer around the dinner table because guests are having an interesting conversation with the homestay host.
We do not want to turn moments like these into “shows” that must happen on every tour.
They are valuable precisely because they happen naturally.
🤝 8. Giving Back – A Journey Can Also Create Value for Ha Giang
For Dragon Team, developing tourism is not only about bringing more travelers to Ha Giang.
We want our growth to also bring something positive to the people who directly make these journeys possible, local communities, and the places we travel through.
❤️ 1% of Revenue Goes Back to the Community
Dragon Team dedicates 1% of our revenue – meaning 1% of the amount our guests pay – to community support activities, especially for disadvantaged children in remote highland areas and families facing particularly difficult circumstances.
On some suitable journeys, guests may also join us in personally giving these gifts.

👥 Better Pay for the People Who Make the Journey Possible
Today, Dragon Team’s core drivers are paid around 25% more than the rates paid by other large companies in Ha Giang.
For us, a good team should not only be respected. Their work should also be fairly rewarded.
♻️ Just 5–10 Minutes for Each Guest, but It Can Create a Bigger Impact
On each journey, Dragon Team sets aside around 5–10 minutes at one suitable stop or viewpoint for the group to take part in a short litter-picking activity once during the trip.
It is only a small and light activity within the entire journey. It does not require much of our guests’ time or effort, but it can add a meaningful experience to the place we are exploring.
For each guest, it is only 5–10 minutes during the entire journey.
But when this small activity is repeated by each group, across journey after journey throughout the year, those short periods of time can add up to a much greater contribution to Ha Giang.
Our idea is simple:
When we leave a beautiful place, we want to make a small contribution toward returning it to its natural state.
This is where we live, work, and build Dragon Team. That is why we want our growth to also create value for the people and places that have made these journeys possible.
🏍️ 9. Easy Rider or Self-Ride – Two Ways to Experience Ha Giang, the Same Dragon Team Style
On Dragon Team’s Classic tours, most guests choose Easy Rider: riding behind a local driver and giving more of their attention to the scenery, culture, and experiences along the way.
For guests with suitable experience and conditions, Self-Ride is an option for those who want to control their own motorbike and be more actively involved in the riding experience throughout the journey.
The two ways of traveling are different, but the core principles remain the same:
• 🛡️ Safety First.
• 👥 Small Groups.
• 🌿 Real Local Experiences.
• 🛣️ Exploring local roads and avoiding overly crowded routes whenever possible.
• 🌄 Focusing on the experience rather than speed or partying.
The way you travel may be different. The Dragon Team style does not change.
👉 Easy Rider or Self-Ride – Which Is Right for You?

🏍️ 10. Want to Self-Ride and Explore More Off-Road Terrain? There Is Another Option
For riders who want to self-ride 100% of the journey and are looking for more small roads, dirt tracks, rocky sections, and village trails, Dragon Team offers the Ha Giang Hidden Roads Off-Road Motorbike Tour 4 Days 3 Nights.
This is not a different tour philosophy.
It is still based on what Dragon Team values: safety, small groups, less crowded roads, local culture, and the real daily life of people in the highlands.
The difference is in how you explore: guests self-ride 100% of the journey, and the route includes a higher proportion of off-road terrain.
The tour is designed around Adventure Riding, not Extreme Enduro.
The goal is not to race or conquer dangerous obstacles. The motorbike is simply a way for us to go deeper into small roads and lesser-known areas.
Because this product has its own riding requirements and terrain characteristics, Dragon Team has a separate page explaining the itinerary, terrain, and who the tour is suitable for in detail.
